What is "Montessori"?

Montessori teaches all new concepts first with objects, then with pictures and finally with words. The child moves from the concrete to the abstract, as they master each new concept. Children learn phonics so they can blends sounds into words and learn to read.  Math is taught concretely by using the Montessori materials. Many Science and Geography topics are also explored.

What makes Montessori unique is that we follow the child. Each child gets lessons at his/her own pace and must master each lesson before moving on to the next. Lessons are either in small groups or done individually.
